Jab Tak Hai Jaan, or JTHJ, is the last film for director Yash Chopra. Yet, given its importance, and the fact that Yash Chopra has made complex movies like Kabhie Kabhie and Silsila, Yash Chopra has not done justice to it. The story of Samar, a young man who works as a bomb detonator with the army, meeting Meera, a God-bargaining (trust me, she does it all the time), Jesus fearing, rich and graceful girl, and falling in love, guitar and all, is perhaps the nicest part of the story. Given a lot of absurdities that course through its length, it is okay for the director to provide a nice first part to a movie which then essentially go for a downward spiral. continue reading...
