The film is definitely one of the better movies of this year, and Lakshmi Ramakrishna in her first attempt to moviemaking has made a movie which really touches the corners of your heart. What you would love about Aarohanam is the story, which is simple, yet definitely very smoothly directed, and that is the beauty of the film. The story is all about a slightly older woman, played by Viji Chandrasekhar (Sarita’s sister) who decides to confront issues which can be deemed small in many ways, but are crucial for her. She has given a strong and virtually flawless performance in the movie, and is definitely a great actress in her own rights.
